Pros and cons of Fossil Smartwatches app for iPhone and iPad
Fossil Smartwatches app good for
Works very well and amplifies my experience with my watch. Very well designed but the curiosity /7 challenge has the same question every day, "take a photo of the oldest thing you own." Other than that amazing app.
Got it as a gift for Christmas, I love the idea of it, wish it has further features like counting how many times I was restless throughout the night or being able to turn it on do not disturb mode/ night mode for the notifications while I sleep.
Love it either way, great way to keep track of calories burned and love the light up notifications for specific people
Great watch! Only problem is that it only works on my iPhone 6 when the app is open.
Everything is good. It connects to my iPhone 6+ well. Tells you the battery level of your watch and can customize the watches notifications.
Overall Im really satisfied and enjoying my Fossil Q. I just wish I could tap my bracelet and have it remind me/replay the notifications. Id also love for it to have a do not disturb mode, since it doesnt follow the one set on my phone already. Asides that Im completely happy with how the device works, just little improvements for next models.
This was a gift and I didnt know what to expect. I had heard about fitbit but it looks not too fashionable. This one looks so cute, i have the rose gold one and i love it. The only thing that I would like it to have is to be able to connect with other people who have this product, apparently with fitbit you can
Some bad moments
First up, both me and my wife have this app. For just me, I’d give it 3 stars. My wife, however, is sometimes not receiving notifications so I’m knocking off a star. Also, I like the watch itself, this rating is purely for the app.
So, what it does it does pretty well, but as it stands, it’s missing some key features. The key ones for me as as follows,
-Should allow for continuing vibrations for calls and alarms.
-Should allow for the phone alarm and reminders to send notifications to the watch.
-Needs more app support. The key one missing for me is the Outlook app. As it stands, I can’t get vibrations for work emails, which is annoying. Really, it should be able to access any app that gives notifications (but I only want it to work for Outlook).
Fix those issues, and it would be a 4* app. Some nice-to-haves to get it up to a 5* app would be:
-Sleep tracking
-Being able to set different vibrate lengths or patterns
-There’s a red LED in the watch. Red should be one of the colours availabe.
-The ability to add more than 5 contacts to ‘My People”
I don’t use the curiosity feature. The step tracking seems accurate enough but I haven’t checked it’s accuracy. I understand that it doesn’t pick up short walks, which I can understand would be annoying for some people.
It’s still a relatively new app, and most of the things I want it to do seem like they could be added fairly easily. If they are, I’ll update the review.
There is absolutely no reason that fossil does not allow this app to be installed on iPad with scaling on iPad the same way Instagram allows. Fossil your missing potential customers. Luckily I was able to force instal it onto an iPad so it works for my wife without jailbreaking the device. By the way the app looks great on the iPad mini and works perfectly!!!
I used to love this app. It makes my nice looking watch semi smart, with notifications and such. However, since the 5/25 update, nothing syncs between my phone and watch. Please fix ASAP!
Ever since I updated the app, it keeps crashing. Nothing is being synced and it pretty much makes the smart-feature of the watch useless. Please fix this issue.
I had this app for a while. I guess earlier versions. However, after updating it (don not remember what version) it has not come back to work. now it crashes every time you open the app, the smart function that my watch supposedly has are a no no.
Ive had my Q for about 6 months and wear it almost everyday. The app has never been stellar... inconsistent accuracy and a little temperamental, but its been OK/ usable. I have the Q Reveler which is basically just a stylish pedometer, which was enough for me until the recent update made it all but worthless. Now my results shown in the app are frequently inaccurate (MANY steps unaccounted for, daily) and about a weeks worth of data (the week immediately preceding my installing the update) was deleted. So please, Fossil: if youre going to make a Fitbit that costs more and does less, could you at least make its limited features work correctly? Very disappointing.
